Where does the time fly? I know it has been a million years since I posted, but things are happening in this neck of the woods!
After years of trying to figure out what I want to do and how I want to change the world, I finally found it. Myself, along with a couple other like minded people, are starting up a non profit animal charity. Our goal will be to fundraise to support a low cost spay/neuter clinic, to raise awareness about issues surrounding animal welfare as well as educating the public, and assisting local animal rescues. I am so excited about this! I always wanted to do something like this but only until now did I realize that a dream this big needs a little help. I will give more details as they emerge, but right now we are just in the process of filing for our status and it takes quite a bit of work and time. Once we are up and running I will let you all know.
Aside from starting up the charity, I have been enjoying my beautiful hot summer. As it is winding down I am going to start reconnecting with all my online buds. When the cold weather hits, I am going to be stuck inside and on my computer so I will have lots of time to reconnect.

Shannon isn't it a wonderful feeling when we finally work out and pursue our passions.
What a fantastic way to 'change the world' my friend!
So pleased you found like-minded friends to walk this path with you.
The dolphins in Japan also need your help this week. September 1st marks the beginning of the annual six-month dolphin kill in Taiji, Japan. Please sign this petition and speak up for our beloved dolphins.

good stuff re your animal venture...
p.s glad that winter is good for something ;)
Signed Pegs! Steve watched The Cove and told me not to watch it.. Those kinds of things haunt me forever
Shannon since I watched The Cove it has haunted me everyday but that is a small price to pay to stop becoming apathetic.
Thanks for signing the petition. :-)
Good for you. It sounds exciting! And a very worthwhile thing to do - animals need advocates like you. (I couldn't watch The Cove but I know what it is about and signed the petition last year).
Sounds like a good project, Shannon ;) I remember reading statistics on euthanized animals at shelters when I was young. Hated those numbers - and it is a good project to help people more easily spay and neuter their pets. So good for you. (Sorry I'm slow to comment - I tried a couple days ago but got distracted)
Take care. ;)
